Good morning Troop,
Just a reminder that this coming Monday is Board of Review for anyone in need for their rank advancement. Adults please plan on being present, in uniform, in case you are needed to help conduct the reviews. Boys will need to be in uniform with their books.

In case you haven't heard we are now 25 boys strong! Please be sure to give a warm welcome to our new boys and parents as this week will be their first official meeting.

February 26, 27 & 28 - TROOP 94'S ANNUAL HOCKING HILLS WEEKEND. Detailed information will be distributed at Monday's meeting. Cost will be $25/person and will need to be received by Thursday, February 11. The cutoff is due to the fact that if we need to cancel one of the cabins reserved we only have a limited amount of time to do so in order to get our money back. Drivers will be needed. I hope everyone will be able to attend.

Parents that have agreed to drive for trail drive, please bring your drivers license number and insurance information so I can complete our tour permit. Trail drive is Saturday's February 6, 20 and March 6.

Sunday, February 7 is Scout Sunday. Our church, First Christian Church, will be conducting a special service on the 7th and have requested to have our boys help with the ceremony. The service will begin at 10:30am. Please plan to arrive dressed in full uniform by 10:15am so we can get lined up and ready as we will be performing as the color guard.

February 7 is also our district's 100 Year of Scouting celebration. Please plan to come to Bellefontaine High School at 5pm. Tickets are $5 at the door or $4 if received by Friday, February 5th. The cost includes dinner, an event patch and the program. I hope everyone will plan to attend this historic event.

February 15, 7pm is our Troop Committee meeting. If you are interested in being more involved in the Troop please plan to attend.

February 22, Court of Honor. Please be sure to bring parents and extended family to this meeting. Anyone receiving rank advancements or merit badges will be recognized this evening. We will also have our Friends of Scouting presentation by Mrs. Woolf.

WELCOME NEW BOY SCOUTS

WOW!!!!!
There are no other words that came to mind then WOW as I stood watching the ceremony unfold last night as all 10 members of the Dragon Den crossed over into our Troop.
10 new Boy Scouts has propelled our group to nearly double and I can't wait to help the new Boy Scouts begin their journy do their trail. I'm sure it's been a while since there were 25 Boy Scouts in the Troop and I can't help but be thrilled.
A reminder, Monday's meeting is not a normal Troop night as we are participating in the District Tubing Night a Mad River Mountain. If you have not yet confirmed your involvement or paid Scoutmaster Jim (me) then please do so ASAP.
We will have use of the Tubing park from 5-9 p.m.
A note to parents - it is your responsibility to supervise your Scout and any other sibling you bring.

Wow! I cannot believe how fast time flies. Last night was officially our last den meeting. Unfortunately there were so many things going on that I didn't get to make a big to do about it with the boys but from all the conversations I've had with all the boys over the last few days I know they are all ready to move on. I am so proud to report that the following boys will be receiving their Arrow of Light next Tuesday:

All seven of these boys along with Camron W., Michael C. and Dallas G. will be crossing over to Troop 94 next Tuesday.
I'd like to thank all of you and all the boys for your patience these past few months in finishing the requirements needed to move on to the next stage. There's lots of excitement right around the corner and I'm glad that we'll continue to share it together.

Congrats to Aaron M. and Brad S. for becoming the newest Eagle Scouts in the Troop 94 fraternity. Celebration was the beginning of a great night for the Troop and Webelos from Pack 94 and Pack 131. Electronics overnighter with most of the Scouts (but not the Scoutmaster) making it through the night without sleep. Great job guys.
Awesome job with cleanup and being on top of it before 7 a.m. without having to be reminded.
Sorry for not having better photos but will post if I can receive some from the "school photographer!"

Good morning everyone,
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. If anyone from your unit is planning to help at the Night at the North Pole this Friday, December 4 please look for me in front of the old Family Pharmacy building at 5:30pm. The coordinator is to advise me of our assignments before then so I'll follow up as soon as I know.
Also as a reminder, if you are planning to walk in the Christmas parade please plan to have your units meet in the Bellefontaine High School parking lot across from the fairground entrance prior to 11:30am, Saturday December 5th. We will start lining up at 11:30am to walk at noon. Please remind your boys to dress for the weather. Units are encouraged to bring their unit flags for them to be carried during the parade. We will end the parade at Our Daily Bread with cookies and cocoa being provided for everyone participating. Please plan to have your parents pick the boys up at Our Daily Bread (223 Oakland Square - across from the Fire Department)immediately following the parade (approximately 1pm). I have purchased candy canes for us to distribute along the parade route with recruiting information for our district so hopefully we'll all have some new boys soon.
If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to contact me. If you know of anyone not included in this email please forward it to them. Have a great rest of the week and I hope to see everyone on Friday night!

ITEMS OF NOTE
• talked for more than half-hour with Brad tonight. Sounds like he is doing really well and having great time, enjoying his basic training. He'll be home during Christmas and he is looking forward to stopping by our meeting. He did receive the letters we wrote and wa thrilled to hear for all of us. He sounded great.

• Lots of great plans in the works for the troop. Sorry I haven't updated regularly.
ITEM 1: Brandon is working this Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. On his Eagle Scout project at one of the habitat houses on Railroad street just off West street, a stones throw northwest of old Gillespie oil (sorry don't know new name). Bring gloves, rakes, shovels other landscaping tools to work.
ITEM 2: Court of Honor is Nov. 23, with several Scouts set to receive rank advancements.
Troop also plans to use this night to celebrate Tthanksgiving. The pine trees and Viking patrols are working on several side dishes. The SPL is planning award presentation and we're going to start off preparing a couple fishes to take to Bellefontaine firefighters on thanksgiving.
ITEM 3: Troop meeting on Dec. 28 will be at the Son Center with an overnight planned as well. Electronics, a talent show and other fun games on in the works. Adults are welcomed to join, if interest please let me know.
ITEM 4: Popcorn will be handed out Monday and prizes will be given at court of honor.
ITEM 5: Night at the North Pole is Dec. 4 from 6-8 p.m.; the annual Christmas parade is the next day. We meet before 11:30 at fairgrounds; parade begins at noon; and pickup will be at Out Daily Bread as we are again collecting items for them.
ITEM 6: Dec. 14 Webelos from Pack 94 are visiting so I look to gave a great showing of both Scouts and adults.

I'm excited to report I received a letter from Brad today and he writes of a great experience his having so far. He seems to be doing quite well and writes of many scout lessons learned which are obviously paying big dividends for him. I'll be sure to bring the letter next week to share with all.

MONDAY WRAPUP
We had a productive discussion about our weekend camping at the Camporee. Issues discussed included, making sure the chuckboxes were ready to go before arriving at camp and better use of our time.
I was pleased with the inclusion of the Webelos into the weekend activities and interaction between them and the Boy Scouts - seemed from my perspective there was lots of good.
Setting up camp in the rain was a thorn in everyone's side, but as most adults know, these are the memories that we share later.
Following review time, organizing the chuckboxes proceeded. We made a short list of items the troops needs for both itself and the patrols.
Connor presented some T-shirt ideals to the troop and informed the Scouts the cost was about $8 each, and I believe the patrols are going to proceed forward with patrol shirts as well as a possible Troop shirt - all through classb.com - very cool designs.
I spoke with 3 Scouts concerning advancement and I'm excited to know there should be at least 5 for the next Board of Review.
This coming week, the Scouts (and adults) if they like, are encouraged to bring paper and pens to write Brad a letter. I plan to package all of them together for mailing, unless someone wishes to mail their own.
Also on Monday, we're preparing for Webelos Woods by reviewing the requirements for the pins to be able to help teach the classes. The Troop Scouts wish to spend the weekend camping outside at WW, but they know there is a need for two adults, as I will not be spending either night at the Son Center. Free weekend of camping and food is provided, since the Scouts are working; we just need a head count to allow for food prep.

Camp Birch here we come
A big weekend of camping is planned and the Troop is looking forward to joining with the Pack 94 Webelos at the Chillicothe Fall Camporee.
Meeting at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the church, departing by 6 p.m.
The Patrols have menus planned and (hopefully) food on the way.
We're taking close to 30 people, including adults, between the Troop and Webelos Scouts.

OTHER ITEMS:
• Brandon has his Eagle project around the corner and we're looking forward to assisting with it.

Aviation Camporee

Aviation Camporee flies off without delay
We had an outstanding time at the NT Fall Camporee Aviation themed event at the Urbana Airport. All the Scouts in attendance were able to complete the requirements for the merit badge as well as have the opportunity to fly in an airplane. Some of the Scouts even had the chance to take the controls of the aircraft, while others in the back seats were force to endure the sudden plunge in altitude created by the younger Scout pilots.
Even though we didn't spend the weekend camping at the airport, it was a fun Saturday day out.

Aviation Merit Badge this weekend
• Meet at the airport by 7:30 a.m.; call me on my cell if you can't locate me near all the other Boy Scouts.
• Pack a sack lunch; I'll bring a cooler with water; bring your own cup.
• Pickup time Saturday is approximately 4 p.m., depending on each Scout's schedule and how the airplane rides work out, causing delays in completing other areas for merit badge. Stations are to be open after the 4 p.m. hour for anyone needing to complete a requirement.
• This is a Saturday only event for T-94 - sorry do not have proper adult leaders available to spend the weekend

- Still in need of two adults (one needs to be trained) to attend Sept. 18-20 NT Camporee at the Urbana airport. I have to work Friday night. Scouts were to be asking parents for help, but haven't hear of any volunteers to date. Back-up plan will be to leave early Saturday, spend the day and return Saturday evening.

- Also, I'm looking for a list of Troop 94 Eagle Scouts and year received from anyone who may have into. I have Nathan, Anthony, Aaron and Brad, but would like to have others if possible.

- Need at least 2 adults for Oct. 2-4 weekend at Camp Birch during Cub Scout Family Bash. Troop is helping with event and its activities. Troop will be camping with Pack 94 and sharing in food (cost to be determined; camping fee free). Since I'm chairing this Cub event is why I need at least 2 adults to be around for Troop Scouts if needed.

- Troop 94 is planning to attend Chillicothe Fall Camporee Oct. 9-11 along with the Webelos II from Pack 94 at Camp Birch. Native American's is the theme and this will be a great opportunity for the first-year Troop Scouts to knock out food planning and cooking requirements.

- Webelos Woods Oct. 30-Nov. 1 at Son Center. Troop volunteering to participate in activity pins for Webelos. Free weekend of camping.

PLANNING AHEAD

Bring your home calendar, your school calendar, your dog's calendar as we plan to sit and discuss the upcoming year. The intent Monday is to discuss activities for the upcoming Scouting year and get some plans moving toward activities.
We have two camporees on the horizon, but need to know if Scouts want to go and what adults will be joining the fun outings.
Another campout opportunity in October, and a canoeing trip that still has not taken legs.

Also, we need to discuss the upcoming service time at Rally at the Peak. Lots of opportunity here for the Troop, but little interest shown by the Scouts in doing a good turn - something we need to discuss.

BOARD OF REVIEW NEXT

On Monday we'll have our Summer Board of Review for those ready for rank advancement.
Then on Aug. 18 we'll have our next Court of Honor. Additionally, we'll share the slideshow from summer camp at Camp Birch, so invite all your friends and family to see the fun we have.
Other items of note:
• A canoeing trip is being considered for August, but no date at this time. Currently Scoutmaster Jim has several previous commitments that date back more than a year and additional adults are needed to get the boys on the water.
• Popcorn is around the corner and info will be coming soon.
• Workers, both Scouts and parents, are needed for Rally at the Peak, in order to help the troop's efforts. See Ms. Deb for details.
• Info on the Fall Camporee is out and the cost is $10 per Scout. There is a waiver form needed to be signed, so Scouts bring your parents and funds this coming week so we can get both into our files. The Aviation themed merit badge camporee will include plane rides for as many Scouts as possible. The flight order will be determined via time-stamps on when Council receives payment and registration forms. This is a great opportunity for a fun learning experience.
• The Troop is signed up to help at the Oct. 2-4 Cub Family Bash. This will be a free weekend of camping with only cost for Scouts being food. Also, at least 2 adults are needed for the weekend.

Monday Mrs. Schrader will be on hand to sit with those who want to discuss and hopefully finish the Emergency Prepardness merit badge. Photos of home kit and personal kits are acceptable.
Troop meeting is a big step to next week's board of review because several scouts need items signed in books, so be sure to bring books into the meeting.
Remember board of reviews are only scheduled every 3 months, so the next two weeks are important.
Keep Brendan, Zach, Kris, Mr. Aiken and Brad in your thoughts as they travel to Chief Logan this week.

2. Anyone interested in volunteering in helping with the Blue Jacket District Cub Scout Carnival event this Friday night, can show up no later than 6:15 p.m. in uniform ready to help. All Logan County Scouts (Boy Scouts, Venture Crew, Ship, Cub Scouts and Scouters) have been requested to participate in repainting the fence of the Logan County Fairgrounds. This project is slated to take place this Saturday, July 11 starting at 7 a.m.
Breakfast, lunch and supplies will be provided. I need to know by Wednesday, July 8, how many Scouts/adults will be available to help with this project so please reply if you can or cannot be part of this great community project.

Well we made it though the week. To knock on wood, Friday was a banner day. The TI scouts accomplished lots toward advancement and had a great time in the process.
Family night saw Several families arrive and a couple are now camping with us tonight. Breakfast is at 9 with closing flag to follow before departure, which should put us in town by 10:30-11 am. We'll be parking at church. If time ivaries, I'll try to call.
Several good things came from week but at campfire I learned that Jon and Zach found some money and did scout thing and turned it in - way to go guys.

Friday was another great day with many accomplishments.
Ryan connected on his first attempt with qualifibg during shotgun merit badge, becoming just second scout this week to do so.
Brendan, Zach, jon, Dylan cor., Bronson tackled the climbing wall. Bryan finished the fishing merit badge, one of three boys in camp to do so.
Dylan col. Is closing in on merit badge No. 5. Grandpa Dean has met his match with one tough stump.
Connor and his buddy rolled their row boat and were able to turn it back over without much effort.
Tylor is surviving after nearly breaking his nose day one, got run over by a bicycle day 2 & didn't get to SCUBA day 3.
It's raining tonite and the boys have put up to protects from rain. Although not all are out. Some elected for the tent tonite.
Zach and Tylor were able to bring the 10 pound weight to the top of the 10 foot pool.
Adam appears to be on verge of have his archery skills.
Others are here, if nothing else, they are having a great time.
Donuts and beer (Birch Beer that is) were a Hugh morrow boost tonight. Sorry parents but sometimes this is all it takes to get over the midweek blues.

Sorry for not updating today, bit I've been busy working by taking photos for Fridays campfire. What I do know is I supervised grandpa dean & john's removal of 5 stumps from our campsite. Dean, Tylor and myself discovered SCUBA so got wetter than others. I left John in charge and for what I know they haven't left camp. Right now john's do his laundry but not offering his services for cheap. I hear Thursday grapvine that Bryan is now a beginner swimmer which is a hugh confidence boost. Another night and several scouts spent a second night under the stars.

CAMP IS ALMOST HERE
We're down to days before summer camp and after the 10-day out meeting, I'm really excited about the upcoming week.
The staff seems more than prepared and their enthusiasm is apparent, so I look forward to a great week at camp.
Don't forget about "Shakedown" Saturday - be at the church by 5 p.m. We'll go through our gear together checking to make sure we're prepared, then we'll share some pizza pie together. Bring your own Scout appropriate drink.

Summer Camp Attendees!

This is some additional information to what I passed out at the last meeting: If you have any questions please call.

• Something I left off the list: Scouts are welcome to bring board or card (non electronic games) to camp. It is the responsibility of the Scout who brings them to take care of what they brought.

• There will be tent inspections! Prizes will be awarded to the Scout who maintains the third and eleventh points of the scout law during camp! With grand prize winner award for making the effort for the entire week.

• We will meet in the parking lot at the Examiner by 11:30 a.m. Sunday, June 28, and will be leaving for Camp Birch by noon. Eat lunch before arriving! BE IN UNIFORM!

• A Scout is TRUSTWORTHY! The boys will not be roaming the camp without supervision or a buddy! Camp is fun and exciting, but the expectation is for all Scouts to travel with a buddy between sessions and during free time. All Scouts are responsible for instruction and homework during merit badge session. Please be mindful of what your requirements for your merit badges. Please do the required work before any additional fun, games or activities!

• There will be a duty roster for Scouts for every day. We will set this up ahead of time to be completed each day. (Fire builder, water, trash … etc.)

• ALL SCOUTS need to be in uniform to travel to camp and have a water bottle. We may receive a tour of camp soon soon after arriving

• ALL SCOUTS will wear their tan uniform shirt to morning and evening flags and meals.

• A small backpack is recommended to carry any items you WILL need including: YOUR SCOUT HANDBOOK, merit badge supplies, a small notebook, pens, pencils, water bottle, hat, or snacks.

• Everyone will be taking the swim test even if you are not going to be swimming. A second towel could be beneficial for the week

• When packing for camp you may choose to pack in a large plastic tote instead of a duffel bag. These help keep everything dry if there is any rainy weather.

• Additional packing notes: All clothing must be Scout appropriate. You may bring a hat or beret to wear. A watch is recommended to keep tabs on your schedule. Please bring a folding chair for evenings around the campfire.

• Scouts are welcome to bring snacks. All snacks will be kept in the trailer with the scouts name on them. There is to be NO SNACKS KEPT IN THE TENTS to prevent furry visitor through the night!

• Everyone will shower at least twice during the week: Tuesday and Friday! A swimming merit badge does not count as a shower!

• Visits through the week are fine. Some Scouts will become slightly homesick, most will not, but parents need to realize that showing up for a visit can open the door to a homesick boy to want to go home. If you are unsure about visiting, you are welcome to call Scoutmaster Jim prior to showing up at camp.

• Friday Night is PARENT’S NIGHT! All parents and siblings are welcome to meet us at the flagpole at 5:45 p.m., in order to eat supper with the Troop (there is a small fee for meals). Parents are welcome to spend the night on Friday. You may bring your own tent or use on of the camp tents if there are ones available.

• Leaving camp on July 4, 2009: We plan to depart as a Troop Saturday. If you need to leave early please discuss with Scoutmaster Jim ahead of time. It takes everyone to clean up the campsite and pack up the Troop.

• Cell service at camp is intermittent at best. I will do my part to check for messages soon after breakfast each morning (8 a.m.). I intend to update my blog each day with notes of our adventure.

Merit Badges Prerequisites
A Scout increases his chances of completing a camp badge if they are prepared. Scouts can leave camp with a partial, but we’d like to see them finish up completely — but they must earn them!

Rifle Shooting: Scouts who will be taking the rifle merit badge at summer camp please note requirements 1d,e,f and i. If you have your Ohio safe hunter hunter certificate, be sure and bring it with you.

Environmental Science MB Prerequisite: 4-B. This is a study plot and most of the scouts do not get this done at camp. We would prefer they do this before camp if possible and record their findings, and bring to me to sign off. #6 Careers report.

Mammal Study MB requirement 3-C: Have the scout bring their report with them. They can usually get this at www.dnr.state.oh.us/wildlife , click on A-Z Guide to Ohio Species, click on mammal of your choice. This will help get this merit badge done more efficiently. Anything else they want to do ahead of time that is measurable will be carefully looked at as well.

Nature: Requirement #1 part 2, #2 part 2 - www.dnr.state.oh.us

Soil & Water Conservation: Read the book and answer any questions and have drawings ready for discussion.

Forestry: Requirement #7: Careers report

Fish and Wildlife Management: Requirement #8: Careers report

SWIMMING: Don’t forget long pants, shoes, socks, belt and a long sleeve
shirt to wear for Req. 4. A button-collared shirt works best.

ARCHERY: Scouts should expect to purchase kits for bowstring & arrow
making at the Trading Post.

SHOTGUN: Scouts must have the upper body strength to hold & fire the
shotgun repeatedly. Shooting experience is a real plus.

CAMPING: Scouts should have at least one year of Boy Scout Camping
experience. Bring a backpack suitable for a backpacking trip. Req. 8c, 9a-c are best done through the unit.

COOKING: There are some 30 parts to the requirements for this badge that
require extensive pre-camp preparation. You’ll make 9 menus for back-country conditions (prepare 6 of them) plus plan nine meals at home (prepare 3 of them). These menu plans are best done before you arrive.

FIRST AID: It’s a good idea to prepare your first aid kit before coming to camp.

FISHING: Scouts should bring their favorite fishing gear. Loaners will be available if a Scout does not own equipment.

LEATHERWORK: Tools and materials are available at Handicraft. Leather kits are available for purchase at the Trading Post.

WOODCARVING: Must present Totin’ Chip on first day. Carving blanks are available for purchase at the Trading Post.

Mile Swim (not a merit badge): This great pool event is a milestone that many Scouts will never forget. Because the requirements for this award are rigid, it must be a structured program. Scouts who wish to earn the mile swim award must begin on Monday morning at 6:30 am with the training program for the mile. The ‘Mile Swim’ is conducted on Friday morning at 6 am.

• Finger Printing MB - This MB takes about 2 hours to complete will be offered during the 4 p.m. Open period. E-Register code “F” in “Other” Merit Badges.
Note: Because these are relatively late offerings, there will be plenty of opportunity to add them at the 10 day out meeting or on the first day of camp.

Troop 71 Swimming MB Tip
There is a requirement to demonstrate survival skills by jumping feet first into deep water wearing clothes (shoes, socks, swim trunks, long pants, belt, and long-sleeved shirt). Remove shoes and socks, inflate the shirt, and show that you can float using the shirt for support. Remove and inflate the pants for support. Swim 50 feet using the inflated pants for support, then show how to re-inflate the pants while still afloat. Unless the Scout brings the clothes listed they might not be able to complete the swimming merit badge. Jeans with no holes and old tennis shoes work well for this.

Troop 94 Summer Camp meeting
June 8, 2009

A. INFORMATION FOR SCOUTS:
Our camp week is from June 28-July 4

6. Uniforms: Why do Scouts have a uniform? For the same reason any sports team does; to show that every member is equal and to give a sense of unity. At camp, the uniform does just that. It can be worn any time during the week, but we especially expect it at Flag Ceremonies, supper and evening Special Events. During the day, your troop may have its own distinctive T-shirt, or a Camp Birch T-shirt. Setting the example is the most important step you can make toward having a uniformed troop.

7. Flag Ceremonies: Flag raising is held at 7:45 a.m. at the Parade Field. Retreat is at 5:45 p.m. at the Parade Field. All of Troop 94 will be expected to be on time for flag.

B. INFORMATION FOR ALL
Our camp week is from June 28-July 4. We’ll meet at the church by 11:30 a.m. and plan to depart by noon. Drivers are needed at this time.

Campfire for all planned, and parents are welcomed and encouraged to stay the night, for driving home Saturday morning. Scouts are not permitted to leave for home until Saturday when the entire group departs together. Plan to arrive by 7-8 p.m.
7. Visitors in camp/leaving camp
Parents/friends welcome to visit camp. Sign in at McMillan Building upon arrival — same for checkout. If a Scout leaves camp, unit leader, parent or guardian much check him out.
8. Expectations of Scout: follow instructions, be early to each activity, in addition to all that Scouts are. We’ll do our part as leaders to help with homesickness

9. Wildlife & Nature’s Hazards: Camp Birch is blessed with a wide variety of flora and fauna. Every Scout should be able to recognize poison ivy. Wild animals are important to camp, but can be dangerous if cornered or threatened.
We should remember that the camp is the animals’ home 12 months of the year and we are here for only and short time.

10. What NOT to Bring to Camp
The following items are not allowed in camp: electronic games, devices and cellphones, bicycles, sheath knives, bows, arrows, firearms, ammunition, fireworks, drugs, alcohol, pets or tobacco. And anything not listed that is not consistent with the Scout Oath or Law.
NOTE: If a cellphone comes to camp without permission, it will be taken and not returned until after camp is completed.

11. Tecumseh Island for 1st year scouts
Tecumseh Island is Camp Birch’s program for new Scouts. This program is designed to provide instruction for young Scouts to help them advance. It is possible that a Scout who joined your unit in the spring could leave Camp Birch with only a few requirements remaining toward First Class Rank as well as two merit badges.
There’s no better boost to a Scout than to succeed early!
Scoutmasters should complete a worksheet that shows which requirements each scout has completed prior to coming to camp. We can streamline the program by focusing on the requirements that more Scouts need while offering more individual instruction for Scouts who need an odd requirement or two.

12. Older Scout/Adult Program
This is a new program for older scouts and adults that is geared to reinforce scout values, increase scout spirit and provide some fun, and semi-high adventure activities. Once all the merit badges are earned and scouts and leaders still want something fun to do at camp, that’s the role of Older Scout/Adult Program. Some of the greatest minds in the council are hard at work coming up with a unique, enriching and exciting program to add to our summer camp experience. Get in on the ground floor of this program and have a blast at camp! There will be a $15 fee to cover extra materials, but it will be worth it!

Memorial Day weekend

GREAT WEEKEND TO SCOUT
The Memorial Day weekend has been great.
First, the Troop boys who camped at Birch with the Pack in order to go hiking and help with the activities, had a great time. The hike which turned out to be nearly 8 miles Saturday morning was lots of fun and tiring - at least for myself and Cubmaster Tom.
Saturday afternoon activities with the Cub Scouts I think was lots of fun and challenging. The food challenge is definitely one that I hope I never experience - good job to those who tackled "the food!"
Both campfires were extremely well done - the Troop boys taking lead with great songs and skits - which led to the Cub Scouts following suit - makes me very proud to see leadership by example.

The Memorial Day parade in town was impressive with lots of people walking in and lots more watching. A good turnout all around. A couple of issues were presented my way, but this is something I can talk about at our next Troop meeting June 1.
I was pleased to see those who showed up.

As for the Zanesfield parking help, I haven't heard anything from that Troop activity.

Again, see you June 1 at the church.

Hello fellow Scouters,
I'm interested in reading the May issue of Boy Life magazine because the November camporee we attended is featured in the Boy Scout edition of the magazine. For whatever reason, Connor still received the Cub Scout edition. I believe the Emergency Preparedness is featured on or about Pages 34, 35. If anyone has a copy I can see, I'd greatly appreciate the help. I don't believe any of our Scouts were photographed, as the organizers had pre-arranged Boy Scouts to be pictured.
